A Day of Wedding Wonders at The Scottish Wedding Show

The Scottish Wedding Show 2023

As someone who’s always been enamored with the world of weddings and the enchantment they bring, I couldn’t resist the allure of The Scottish Wedding Show at the SEC Centre in Glasgow on Saturday, October 14th, 2023. While I might not be a bride myself, the opportunity to immerse myself in the magical realm of weddings was too tempting to pass up. And what a day it turned out to be!

Upon entering the SEC Centre, I was immediately greeted by a bustling atmosphere and a plethora of vendors showcasing their finest wares. From stunning wedding gowns to traditional kilts and delectable cakes, the options seemed endless. It was a bridal wonderland that promised to make every dream wedding a reality.

The highlight of the event had to be the mesmerizing catwalk, where the most exquisite wedding dresses took center stage. The likes of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Bridal Boutique and The Wedding Planner Bridal Shop left the audience in awe with their breathtaking creations. The intricate lace, flowing trains, and delicate beadwork transported me to a world of bridal fantasies.

But it wasn’t just bridal attire on display. MacGregor and MacDuff Kilt Makers showcased handsome men in kilts, a timeless symbol of Scottish tradition. Meanwhile, Marsha Marshal‘s flower girl dresses added an extra dose of charm to the show, proving that weddings are a family affair.

Enjoying The Scottish Wedding Show

One particular vendor that caught my eye was Lady G, offering exquisite mother-of-the-bride attire. With my daughter’s wedding coming up in 2025, I was eager to explore elegant options for this important role. Lady G’s collection did not disappoint, and I left with a newfound excitement for my role in my daughter’s special day.

The day kicked off with a bang thanks to the electrifying performance of ‘Proud Mary’ by the bagpipe and drums band, ‘Drums n’ Roses.’ Their high-energy performance had the entire audience singing and dancing along, setting the tone for a day filled with celebration and joy.

As we walked through the venue, a solo violinist from Capella String Quartet serenaded us with contemporary tunes, adding a touch of sophistication and romance to the atmosphere. And for those in need of refreshments, stalls offering prosecco and delicious food options were readily available, ensuring we stayed energized throughout the day.
